Why does Instagram remove my line breaks?
Instagram trims empty lines from a caption when nothing is written on them. Putting an invisible character on the empty line keeps it, so the gap stays in your post.
How do I add a line break in an Instagram caption or bio?
Type your text here, copy the result and paste it into Instagram. On your phone you can also press return on the keyboard, but empty lines may still disappear, which is what the spacer fixes.
Does the blank character work in a bio and in comments?
Yes, it works in captions, bios, Stories text and comments. If a field trims it, add a visible character such as a dot or a dash on that line.
Will the spacer hurt my reach?
No. It is one invisible character per empty line. Screen readers may skip it or read it as blank, so do not use many in a row.
