Client approval for social media posts
PostVIA lets agencies and freelancers send a post to a client as a private approval link. The client approves or requests changes without an account. Approval never publishes the post: you decide when it goes live.
Starter, Growth or Agency. Not included in the free trial.
How does a social media approval process stay clear? Keep the text, media, networks and planned time together. A decision belongs to the content version the client saw, so an edited post cannot silently pass as the same approved draft.
What does the client see in the approval link?
One private link
The client sees the post text, media, network names and planned time. Your name and email stay private; no client account is needed.
A decision with context
Approve or Request changes, with an optional name and comment. The decision is single-use and both sides see when the content changes afterwards.
You keep publishing control
An approval does not schedule or publish anything. You receive an in-app notification, then choose whether to schedule or publish the post yourself.
How does client approval work step by step?
Open a Draft or Scheduled post and create a private approval link. Check the text, media, networks and time before sharing it.
Send the link to your client. They review the post and approve it or request changes, with an optional comment.
Read the decision in PostVIA. After content edits, request a new review; when ready, schedule or publish the post yourself.
What should your approval checklist include?
A checklist before you send
Check the caption, every network version, media order, selected networks and planned time. Send the link only when the post is ready for the client to review.
Edits remain visible
The client and owner see when content changed after the decision. Approval is tied to that content version; it is not an edit lock.
Link access stays limited
Links expire after 14 days and can be revoked. The review page is not indexed and sends no referrer. Existing links keep working for clients if your plan changes.
What are the limits?
- Paid plans only; the trial does not include approval links.
- A link expires after 14 days and can be revoked.
- No client accounts, reminders or email notifications of decisions.
- The owner schedules or publishes after the review.
Frequently asked questions
Still have a question? Contact us
Does my client need a PostVIA account?
No. The client opens the private approval link and reviews the post without creating an account.
Does approving a social media post publish it?
No. Approval only records the client decision. The owner still schedules or publishes the post in PostVIA.
How long does an approval link last?
A link expires after 14 days, including a link with a recorded decision. You can revoke it sooner.
What if I edit the post after approval?
The decision stays tied to the version the client reviewed. Both the client and the owner see that the content changed. Create a new review link for the edited post.
Can I revoke a client approval link?
Yes. Revoking the link stops it opening. Creating another link also closes the previous one.
Which plans include client approval?
Starter, Growth and Agency include approval links. A free trial or an account without a plan cannot create them; links already sent remain available to clients until expiry or revocation.
