How to schedule YouTube videos (and when to publish them)
Two ways to schedule a YouTube video — in YouTube Studio or with PostVIA — plus how to choose the best time to publish and keep a steady upload rhythm.
By PostVIA Team

Short answer: you can schedule a YouTube video in YouTube Studio by choosing Schedule in the visibility step, or with a scheduling tool like PostVIA that publishes the video at the time you pick. Publish when your viewers are active — YouTube Analytics shows when that is — and keep a regular rhythm.
Option 1: schedule in YouTube Studio
- Open YouTube Studio and click Create → Upload videos.
- Select the video and fill in the title, description, thumbnail and other details.
- On the Visibility step, choose Schedule.
- Pick the date and time and confirm.
This works well for one channel. If you also publish the same video to TikTok, Instagram or other networks, you repeat the work in each app.
Option 2: schedule with PostVIA
PostVIA publishes to YouTube and seven other networks from one place:
- Connect your YouTube channel once through Google's authorization flow.
- Create a post and add one video — YouTube posts are video-only.
- In the YouTube tab, set the title, description and privacy setting: public, unlisted or private.
- Choose the date and time in your time zone and schedule it.
At that time PostVIA uploads the video to YouTube and shows the result in the calendar. You can move or cancel a scheduled video until it is published.
Schedule a whole series at once
For a series — tutorials, Shorts, episodes — use Bulk Video Scheduling: upload a batch of videos, choose the accounts, a start time and an interval such as daily or every two days. PostVIA shows the full queue before anything is scheduled, and daily or weekly intervals keep the same local time.
Best time to post on YouTube
There is no single best time for every channel. To find yours:
- In YouTube Studio open Analytics → Audience.
- Find the card When your viewers are on YouTube.
- Publish one to two hours before the darkest bars, so the video is ready when viewers arrive.
Weekends and weekdays often look different, so check each day of the week. Then keep the same days and times for a few weeks — a predictable schedule helps viewers know when to come back.
How often should you post on YouTube?
Post as often as you can keep up with good quality. For many channels that is one long video a week plus a few Shorts. Scheduling a batch in advance makes that rhythm much easier to hold.
