A LinkedIn post scheduled for a future date and time

Short answer: on LinkedIn, select Start a post, write your post, select the clock icon, choose the date and time, then select Next and Schedule. You can schedule from 10 minutes to 3 months ahead. To see your scheduled posts, select the clock icon again and choose View all scheduled posts. To plan LinkedIn together with other networks, use a scheduling tool like PostVIA.

Option 1: schedule from your LinkedIn profile

On a computer:

  1. Select Start a post on your homepage and write your post.
  2. Select the clock icon in the lower-right corner of the post window.
  3. Choose the date and time in the pop-up. You can pick a 30-minute option or type the exact time.
  4. Select Next to review, then Schedule.

In the mobile app, tap Post, write the post, tap the clock icon in the upper-right corner, choose the time, then tap Next and Schedule.

LinkedIn standardises the scheduled time in UTC based on your device's time zone, so check your device settings if you travel.

Limits to know: the time must be between 10 minutes and 3 months from now. Events, Jobs and Services posts cannot be scheduled.

Find, edit or delete a scheduled post

  1. Select the clock icon in the post window.
  2. Choose View all scheduled posts.
  3. Use the More menu to reschedule or edit, or the delete icon to remove the post.

Option 2: schedule a post for a LinkedIn Page

If you manage a company Page, a super admin or a content admin can schedule Page posts too:

  1. Open the Page admin view and select Page posts.
  2. Select Start a post and write the post.
  3. Use the scheduling icon to set the date and time, then select Next and Schedule.

For Page posts the time must be between one hour and three months ahead. LinkedIn does not allow scheduling events, multiple photos, reshares, polls, jobs or service posts on a Page.

Option 3: schedule with PostVIA

PostVIA is useful when LinkedIn is one of several networks you post to. PostVIA connects LinkedIn as an organization connection, so it publishes to your company Page.

  1. Connect your LinkedIn Page once.
  2. Write the post. LinkedIn takes up to 3,000 characters, a carousel of up to 9 images or a video up to 10 minutes.
  3. LinkedIn uses the common caption in PostVIA. Write it with your LinkedIn audience in mind, or publish to LinkedIn in its own post.
  4. Choose the date and time in your time zone and schedule it.

The post appears in the calendar next to your Instagram, X, Threads and other posts, and you can drag it to another time until it is published.

Plan a week of LinkedIn posts

  • Start with late afternoon on weekdays and test from there; see the best time to post on LinkedIn.
  • Write three or four posts in one sitting and schedule them across the week.
  • Put the hook in the first line: LinkedIn cuts the post after about 210 characters and shows "see more". Check the length with the free LinkedIn character counter and see how it looks in the LinkedIn post preview.
  • Need a bold line? Use the free LinkedIn bold text generator, and keep it to a few key words.
  • Leave time to reply to comments in the first hour after the post goes out.
