How to schedule tweets (posts on X)
How to schedule a tweet — a post on X — on X itself or with PostVIA, where to find scheduled posts, and how to plan a week of posts on X.

Short answer: on X, write your post in the compose box, select the calendar icon at the bottom, choose the date and time and select Confirm. Your scheduled posts are under Unsent posts in the compose box. To schedule the same post to X and other networks at once, use a scheduling tool like PostVIA.
Option 1: schedule on X
- Open the compose box (the Post button) and write your post — up to 280 characters on a standard account.
- Add up to 4 photos, a GIF or a video if you want.
- Select the calendar icon at the bottom of the compose box.
- Choose the date and time and select Confirm, then schedule the post.
To see, edit or delete scheduled posts, open the compose box and select Unsent posts. Drafts are kept there too.
Option 2: schedule with PostVIA
PostVIA is useful when X is one of several networks you post to:
- Connect your X account once.
- Write the post and add up to 4 images or one video.
- PostVIA counts characters the way X does — every link counts as 23 characters and most emoji as 2 — so the post will not fail for being too long. X uses the common caption in PostVIA, so keep it within 280 characters or publish to X in its own post.
- Choose the date and time in your time zone and schedule it.
The post appears in the calendar next to your posts for LinkedIn, Threads and the other networks, and you can drag it to another time until it is published.

- Write several posts in one sitting and schedule them across the week.
- Check the length in the free X character counter and see the result in the X post preview.
- Leave room for replies: X rewards conversation, so check back after each post goes out.
