A weekly LinkedIn posting plan with the best time marked for each day

Short answer: in Buffer's analysis of 4.8 million LinkedIn posts (published September 2026), late afternoon and early evening (3–8 p.m.) drove the most engagement. The top slots were Wednesday at 4 p.m., Friday at 3 p.m. and Friday at 4 p.m., and Wednesday was the best day, closely followed by Thursday and Friday. Treat this as a starting point and check your own analytics.

Best time to post on LinkedIn by day

The top slot for each day in the study. Treat them as your audience's local time.

  • Monday: 10 p.m. — people catch up on their feed after work.
  • Tuesday: 4 p.m., as the workday winds down.
  • Wednesday: 4 p.m. — one of the best slots of the week, on the best day.
  • Thursday: 5 p.m.
  • Friday: 3 p.m. — Friday afternoon is one of the strongest windows of the week.
  • Saturday: 9 a.m., but weekend engagement is lower than on weekdays.
  • Sunday: 10 p.m., also below weekday levels.

Best days: Wednesday, then Thursday and Friday. Weekends are the weakest, so keep your most important posts for midweek.

Why late afternoon works on LinkedIn

LinkedIn is used around work. Many people check it when meetings end and the day slows down, or in the evening when they have time to read longer posts. Morning posts can still work for an audience that reads news before work, so if your analytics show a morning peak, test it too.

How to find the best time for your LinkedIn page

  1. Open your company page as an admin and go to Analytics.
  2. Check the followers and content analytics to see when posts get the most impressions and engagement.
  3. Pick two or three late-afternoon slots on weekdays as a starting test.
  4. Keep them for two to four weeks and compare impressions, reactions, comments and reposts after 48 hours.
  5. Keep the winners and replace the rest.

Post at the best time without breaking your workday

Late afternoon is exactly when you are finishing your own work. Scheduling lets you write in the morning and publish at 4 p.m.:

  • in PostVIA, connect your LinkedIn page, write the post, add images or a video if you like, and choose the date and time in your time zone;
  • publish the same post to Facebook, X and other networks in the same step;
  • LinkedIn uses the common caption, so write it with your LinkedIn audience in mind, or create a separate post just for LinkedIn;
  • move posts in the calendar while you test different slots.

PostVIA connects LinkedIn as an organization, so posts go to the company page you manage.
