Best time to post on Facebook: every day of the week
The best times to post on Facebook for each day of the week from a study of 14 million posts, the best and worst days, and how to find the right time for your Page.
By PostVIA Team

Short answer: in Buffer's analysis of 14 million Facebook posts (published February 2026), the single best slot of the week was Thursday at 9 a.m., and Wednesday was the best day overall, followed by Thursday and Tuesday. On weekdays, mornings worked best. Weekends were the weakest. Use this as a starting point and check when your own followers are online.
Best time to post on Facebook by day
The top slots for each day in the study. Treat them as your audience's local time.
- Monday: 9 p.m., then 10 p.m. and 7 p.m. — Monday is an evening day.
- Tuesday: 8 a.m., then 7 p.m. and 7 a.m.
- Wednesday: 8 a.m., then 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. — the best day of the week.
- Thursday: 9 a.m., the best slot of the whole week, then 8 a.m. and 10 a.m.
- Friday: 8 a.m., then 7 a.m. and 6 a.m.
- Saturday: 10 p.m., then 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. — the weakest day overall.
- Sunday: 10 a.m., then 9 a.m. and 8 a.m. — better than Saturday, but below weekdays.
Best days: Wednesday, then Thursday and Tuesday. Worst day: Saturday.
Why your best time can be different
- Your audience. A local café, a B2B company and a gaming community reach people with very different routines.
- Time zones. If your followers are spread across countries, post for the time zone where most of them live.
- Your goal. Morning posts catch people on the way to work; evening posts catch them relaxing. Test both if your insights show two peaks.
- Content type. Short videos and questions to your audience may work at different hours than long updates.
How to find the best time for your Facebook Page
- Open Meta Business Suite and go to Insights.
- Look at the audience section to see when your followers are active by day and hour.
- Choose two or three of the busiest slots and post a little before each peak.
- Keep these slots for two to four weeks and compare reach, reactions, comments and shares after 48 hours.
- Keep the winners and replace the rest.
Post at the best time without being online
The best Facebook slots are early mornings — before most people start work. Scheduling lets you prepare posts the day before:
- in PostVIA, write the post, add images or a video (or post text only — Facebook accepts that), and choose the date and time in your time zone;
- give Facebook its own text while Instagram, LinkedIn and X keep the common caption;
- move posts in the calendar while you test different times.
