How to schedule Facebook posts (Pages and personal profiles)

How to schedule posts for a Facebook Page or a personal profile — on Facebook itself, in Meta Business Suite or with PostVIA — and which option fits which account.

A Facebook post scheduled for a Page with its date and time

Short answer: a Facebook Page — and a personal profile in professional mode — can schedule posts directly on Facebook or in Meta Business Suite. To schedule the same post to a Facebook Page and other networks at once, use a scheduling tool like PostVIA. Third-party tools cannot publish to regular personal profiles: Meta allows that only on Facebook itself.

Which option fits your account

  • Facebook Page: schedule on Facebook, in Meta Business Suite or with a scheduling tool.
  • Personal profile in professional mode: schedule on Facebook itself.
  • Regular personal profile: switch the profile to professional mode to get scheduling, or post manually. Scheduling tools cannot publish to personal profiles.

Option 1: schedule on Facebook or in Meta Business Suite

  1. Open your Page (or your profile in professional mode) and start a new post.
  2. Write the text and add photos or a video.
  3. Open the post settings, choose scheduling and pick the date and time.
  4. Confirm. Scheduled posts can be found and edited in the post management area or in Meta Business Suite.

Menu names change from time to time, but scheduling always lives in the post settings before you publish.

Option 2: schedule with PostVIA

PostVIA is useful when Facebook is one of several networks you post to:

  1. Connect Facebook once through Meta's authorization flow and choose the Pages to add.
  2. Create a post. Facebook accepts text-only posts as well as posts with images or video.
  3. If you want, give Facebook its own text while Instagram, LinkedIn or X keep the common caption.
  4. Choose the date and time in your time zone and schedule it.

The post appears in the calendar. You can drag it to another time or cancel it until it is published, and PostVIA shows the result for each network after publishing.

Plan a week of Facebook posts

  • Pick two or three regular time slots when your audience is active; Page insights show when your followers are online.
  • Write the week's posts in one sitting and schedule them.
  • Mix formats: a photo, a short video, a question to your audience.
  • Check the results after a week and move the next posts to the slots that worked best.

FAQ

Can I schedule posts on my personal Facebook profile?

Yes, if the profile uses professional mode — then scheduling is available on Facebook itself. Third-party scheduling tools, including PostVIA, publish to Facebook Pages, not to personal profiles.

How do I edit a scheduled Facebook post?

On Facebook, open the scheduled posts in your Page's post management or in Meta Business Suite. In PostVIA, open the post in the calendar and change it before it is published.

Can I post the same content to Facebook and Instagram at the same time?

Yes. In PostVIA, select both accounts in one post. Instagram needs an image or a video, and PostVIA checks that before scheduling.
